For International Women’s Day, our colleague Petra asked our female colleagues why they enjoy working in IT and also asked our male colleagues what they would miss without women. The result: a bath of appreciation in both directions. And for the EBF as an employer, let’s enjoy.
The IT industry is incredibly exciting because it is constantly changing and full of innovations. We women make a valuable contribution and drive many topics forward – with passion, structure and an overarching perspective. That’s why IT needs more women – and that should be encouraged in schools. With our second Girls’Day, we are giving girls the opportunity to discover this exciting world – a project that is very close to my heart.

I think it’s great that more and more women are entering the field of IT. With our social skills, we simply bring a breath of fresh air! Women can lose their fear of IT because they are well received here and can grow into the topics. I have also developed internally and grown with the job.

And our male colleagues also had their say. It was nice to hear why they value women in the IT industry and at EBF.
For me, projects with mixed teams are a breath of fresh air (in a thoroughly positive way!) compared to my “normal” work, which tends to focus more on collaboration with men. It’s more productive because it simply brings in different, new perspectives, such as different ways of thinking and approaching solutions. I also feel that communication and the working atmosphere are better. More interpersonal relationships are established, leading to more open and empathetic communication. I couldn’t imagine an employer with little or no women at all! I wouldn’t feel comfortable. That’s why I’m very satisfied at the EBF that we promote women (many female managers) and that there is no “men against women” at any level – quite the opposite!

It was also a lot about female leaders – from both a female and male perspective.

I like working in IT because of the dynamic agility that characterizes it. And I believe that we women are good for the industry as a whole – with our perspective and also our female skills in leadership. Everyone benefits!
For us, the modern workplace is not just an IT service for customers; we also live it internally: I am very happy to take advantage of the opportunities for home office and workation that arise from this, and that increases motivation and loyalty.

Despite the IT world still being dominated by men, we have many women in management positions at EBF – and they stand up for their employees and the company. I think that makes our corporate culture very balanced. And you can be seen as role models for future trainees and young employees. Without our female colleagues, the dynamic and atmosphere at EBF would be lost – and work would become monotonous and boring.

For me, working in the IT industry means modern equipment and the latest tools. In recent years, for example, we have digitalized our entire invoicing process, which has reduced our workload in the finance team and made us more efficient. Yes, I love numbers – but I also love my colleagues in finance. I believe that as a woman and mother, I have valuable leadership skills that help my team move forward. And because we can work so digitally, we can also work from home, and I really appreciate that about the IT industry and EBF.

At EBF, team spirit and the exchange with colleagues is an important part of our corporate culture.
Women strengthen our world because it is you who hold the structures together. It was women who taught me order and discipline – and it was women who helped me develop from an introvert into a self-confident and at the same time considerate extrovert. But you also bring a breath of fresh air, color and joy into the IT world – and in my experience you are more committed than we men.

I feel very comfortable in the IT environment and at EBF in particular. As a lawyer, I appreciate a relaxed and collaborative environment. It’s great to see more and more women entering the fields of law and IT – it’s enriching for everyone involved. I also like the dynamics of the industry because a lot is happening here and you are always developing – also on a legal level.

It’s great to see more and more women entering the world of IT – and we’d love to see even more join us. Get in touch.
I can’t imagine it at all, with only guys running around here. That would be boring. In our planning team for the team events, I really appreciate the women because you are simply more creative – without you, the events wouldn’t be as cool as they are. I would also like to get women on my Cloud team, but unfortunately hardly any apply. I would be delighted if more women were to join IT, it would break it up a bit – in a positive way.

Team Lead Cloud

You women bring a different perspective to the table, and that helps us to rethink our own. It loosens things up, and I find that valuable.
Heiko
Product Manager
In my experience, teams benefit from a wide range of experiences and perspectives, so it has never mattered to me whether my manager is a man or a woman. Unfortunately, female leaders are still quite rare in the IT industry, so I think it’s refreshing that EBF continues to strengthen this diversity.

Work at EBF
Our colleague Petra has been with the EBF for almost a year now – she feels very comfortable among her colleagues and has been confirmed in her decision to join the IT world and the EBF by the many conversations she has had with her colleagues around International Women’s Day. It was nice to hear that gender is not a negative topic for us at the EBF and that we women are just as much a part of it as men.
