What happened when you first applied to join EBF?

My first point of contact was via an external recruitment agency. After some initial discussions, they forwarded my CV to the department manager. The recruitment consultant was also present during the initial interview, and unlike many other job interviews, this was actually a very pleasant process, not just the usual round of questions and answers. In fact, I found the entire process extremely enjoyable. They even pointed out that they welcomed feedback!

What made you choose this job over any other?

After first coming across this area while working for my previous employer, I knew I wanted to make my mark in the enterprise mobility sector. I felt that EBF would be the perfect place to work as they are one of the market leaders in this field.

What would be a typical working day for you?

There isn’t ONE typical working day. Some mornings I visit a customer, where I act as consultant for all questions relating to Mobile Device Management (MDM). On other days, I might be supporting a customer with the implementation of an MDM system, either from home or from the office.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I get to deal with a wide variety of people. Since no two days are alike, it’s never dull. I can embrace my interest in smart devices and still get to learn new things because technology is fast-moving, and today’s state of the art could already be outdated by tomorrow.

What particular challenges does your job entail?

There are times when the devil is in the detail, which means that errors need to be hunted down with an eye to the project schedule and timescale, and a solution put forward. And it’s always good to know that you have a team of experts behind you for advice and help at all times.

What makes your team special?

We are a young and supportive team. We know we can depend on the rest of the team when we’re faced with new challenges.

Why do you enjoy working for your current company?

EBF is a dynamic company that adapts to new market situations. As an employee here, I have the opportunity to develop professionally and to make a real contribution.

Why you would recommend EBF as an employer?

The working atmosphere and the sense of being part of a team at EBF is remarkable. New colleagues are quickly welcomed and integrated. Enjoying a beer together after work before the weekend starts helps us to get to know our colleagues better and strengthens the bond between us.

What happened when you first applied to join EBF?

It wasn’t a traditional process by any means. Both the telephone interview and the face-to-face interview were very relaxed and the usual questions you’d expect in a recruitment interview felt like part of a genuine conversation. Overall, I was extremely positively impressed and surprised. After the interview, I was shown around EBF’s offices to give me a better idea of my future employer’s set-up.

What made you choose this job over any other?

I felt the job combined two key elements that I really can’t do without: customer focus plus information and communication technology.

What would be a typical working day for you?

I usually start my working day by managing our IT infrastructure (Windows server. AD, VPN, etc.) and looking after virtualized environments (VMware). These are monitored to ensure that all systems operate smoothly with high availability levels. These systems also have to be recorded in documents and reports.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I love the fact that this job is just so diverse. There’s never a dull day: there’s always something new to challenge you, or new tasks to get your teeth into.

What particular challenges does your job entail?

Flexibility and communication. In technical areas, especially, it’s often quite challenging to get clients on board and explain technical concepts to them so that they understand what we mean.

What makes your team special?

We laugh a lot, but also have excellent technical knowledge, and a sensitive side, which helps when we’re training new staff members. These are just a few of our coping mechanisms. The main thing is that we work as a team, not as individuals, when we’re dealing with challenging technical problems.

Why do you enjoy working for your current company?

EBF has a transparent and honest corporate culture, with the emphasis on short decision-making processes. This means that it’s easy to feel you’re making a difference. They are also extremely keen on personal development and further training.

Why you would recommend EBF as an employer?

EBF still has the mindset of a startup company. You get the impression that you can achieve a great deal – and you really know you’re appreciated. In fact, EBF not only values individual achievements, but also the work of the entire EBF team – and that’s exactly how they make you feel.

How was your application process?

My application process went smoothly. Two days after sending my application, I received an invitation to a meet in person.

The interview focused on my skills and personal interests. During the interview it became clear that the EBF attaches great importance to the further development of its employees and actively promotes this.

I was accepted the following day. I received the employment contract first by email and then by post.

Why did you decide to take this job?

For my career start after my apprenticeship, a secure job with good future prospects was important to me. EBF is a company that develops forward-looking ideas for the future of the Digital Workspace.

In addition, I can combine my personal interests, such as enterprise mobility and security topics – especially in the Apple context – with the professional requirements. Not only does EBF enable its clients to work with state-of-the-art technology, but also its employees. So we can choose between a Windows notebook and a Macbook or an Android device or iPhone.

What does your typical working day look like?

Due to processing complex requests from different customers, no day is like the other.

When I’m not working at the customer’s site, I work in our office and receive the requests by phone or via our ticket system. Usually our customers have questions about existing systems or the implementation of new services. Of course, troubleshooting is also one of my tasks.

On site, I support our customers in implementing complex Mobile Device Management solutions, hand them over to the customers’ administrators and conduct training courses.

What is the great thing about your job?

The great thing about my job is the combination of a young and dynamic team and the daily changing tasks and challenges.

The opportunity to work on site with different customers allows me to get to know different working environments and to constantly expand my knowledge. This is complemented by extensive training opportunities, which are offered according to requirements.

What challenges does your job entail?

Since I work in an agile environment and customer requests vary greatly, I have to be able to react flexibly to them. It is important to be able to remain calm even under pressure.

What makes your team special?

The special thing about our team is that we are all experts in our fields. This means that if you have questions, you get quick help and can learn from each other.

From the first day of work you belong to a team you can rely on 100%.

Why does your employer suit you?

At EBF I appreciate the transparency and honesty that is reflected in the management style of my team lead. Appreciation and flat hierarchies characterize the working environment and make the EBF an attractive employer for me.

Why do you recommend EBF as an employer?

EBF offers secure jobs, as technology in the IT/enterprise mobility industry is constantly evolving and more topics are added.

Flat hierarchies mean that you can decide a lot yourself. This shows that you are not only working for the company, but that you are actively involved in its development and further growth.

In addition, the cohesion in the teams and in the entire company is promoted. For this the after-work beer on Fridays is helpful 😉

What did you learn in your first weeks at EBF?

My job at EBF is the first one after my apprenticeship. Therefore, the first weeks were focused on correct communication and dealing with customers as well as on familiarizing myself with the Digital Workspace. At EBF it is important to show initiative and to learn new topics independently. Naturally, support is always provided by experienced colleagues.

What else would you like to see from EBF?

That the future and the vision of the company continue to grow and that the “start-up” character with the flat hierarchies will be preserved.

What happened when you first applied to join EBF?

My application went through really quickly. I saw the job advertised online and was invited to attend the first interview soon after I sent in my application. The interview went really smoothly, with some really frank exchanges, leaving me with a great first impression of the job itself, and of EBF as an employer. At the end of the first interview, I was invited to attend the second straightaway. I was also given a set of slides about an unknown EBF product and asked to prepare a presentation that could be given to potential customers. I had about a week to do it all. Admittedly, this was a challenging application process for any applicant, but I was pleased to have the opportunity to gain an insight into my future work environment via the presentation. It meant that I already had some idea of what to expect at EBF.

What made you choose this job over any other?

I’ve always found sales to be an exciting place to work. My father also worked in sales and I always wanted to follow in his footsteps, even as a small child. So working in sales was a no-brainer for me really. I studied Organizational Sciences, majoring in IT, and ideally wanted to combine these two fields – which meant that working as a key account manager for EBF was the perfect job for me.

What would be a typical working day for you?

I love the fact that my job is so varied. I usually start the day checking my e-mails and dealing with customer enquiries. Then I spend a large part of my working day visiting customers or taking part in online meetings to showcase EBF products and services. I also look after one key account, which may mean internal discussions on site, or assisting the customer with product sales. My daily routine also includes drawing up bids and presentations. Launching new products and services is one of the most exciting parts of the job, and I work with the marketing team to create the associated documentation.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The fact that I’m always on the go – there’s never a dull moment. Then there’s the fact that I’m really into mobile devices and working for EBF gives me the opportunity to access all the latest technology.

What particular challenges does your job entail?

It can be quite challenging persuading a customer who already uses an MDM solution to switch to our services and solutions. You have to try and work out where the customer’s current arrangements need tweaking and convince them that EBF offers a better solution. In this kind of situation, it’s good to know that you can depend on the support of the entire EBF team.

What makes your team special?

Teamwork is extremely important at EBF, not only in the sales team. We work very closely with all specialist areas, e.g. the development team and our consultants. But even within the sales team I know I can rely on my colleagues and we offer a mutual support network.

Why do you enjoy working for your current company?

EBF operates in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. This keeps me on my toes and means I’m always learning new things and developing my skillset. Not only does EBF promote innovative technological solutions, it also allows its staff members to use these systems and makes the latest technology available to employees within the company.

Why you would recommend EBF as an employer?

EBF is a modern employer with great colleagues and feels very much like a family. I love working as part of the team! Even the environment in which EBF operates is fascinating. And of course, EBF offers a great many benefits which make it a very attractive place to work: modern office premises, subsidized food in the canteen, free fruit and drinks, etc.
