Hypergate enables what is not natively supported by Android Enterprise: the use of the Kerberos protocol, which is often used for authentication and allows single sign-on. Kerberos is considered very secure and is therefore also used by the widely used Active Directory (AD) directory service, which handles user authentication for many applications. With the Hypergate solution, companies can choose a cross-device approach to authentication and make everyday work easier for employees with convenient and seamless authentication. How does it work? Hypergate is a must for Android or mixed device fleets

Hypergate allows the advantages of Kerberos to be used on Android devices as well. This means that Android users can also authenticate via SSO and benefit from secure and convenient access to relevant applications.

Your IT team can roll out SSO as an authentication method across your entire device fleet—this cross-device approach saves time and hassle.

Hypergate can communicate directly with the AD infrastructure and does not require any additional backend components. It is compatible with any UEM and can be rolled out to all employees via an app.

The Hypergate Smart Access feature can be used to define for which applications and users an SSO option should be available. Policies are then used to control when SSO is permitted, when stricter authentication mechanisms such as MFA are required, or when access is denied, for example depending on the user’s location or network.

Hypergate makes it possible to change passwords on mobile devices. Employees no longer need to use a Windows PC for this, which is particularly useful for employees who travel a lot and ensures greater commitment overall.

Password resets are also possible on mobile devices. This is a major advantage, especially when passwords are changed frequently and strict password requirements apply. Forgotten passwords can be reset independently and reassigned in accordance with company guidelines – without the need for support.
