Challenges at Finanz Informatik

Mobile devices are no longer just playing an increasingly important role as information hubs in our private lives. They are also becoming more and more integrated into work processes and are strengthening the “digital competence” of employees in the savings bank sector.

Finanz Informatik, the central IT service provider for the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, has been using a mobile device management tool for its customers, the savings banks, since 2012. This tool is used for the central management of all mobile devices used by customers. The next step in 2016 was to select, further develop, and introduce an advanced tool from MobileIron so that Finanz Informatik could offer its customers mobile services that go beyond pure mobile device management and provide added value to their employees in their everyday work.

Our solution

The result is “my mobile office” (mymo). mymo is not just a platform, but a comprehensive range of services that integrates mobile devices into the everyday work of Sparkasse employees. In addition to accessing data in the “FI Cloud,” the ability to call up intranet pages, and the use of a dedicated messenger service, multimedia content is also displayed.

Our approach at Finanz Informatik

To ensure that the new “my mobile office” platform could be set up and rolled out quickly and efficiently, FI chose EBF as its service provider to support the FI team in the design, development, and rollout of “my mobile office.”

EBF’s specialists were able to contribute their expertise where it was needed during the project and rollout. This ensured a targeted and rapid project approach in collaboration with FI. In addition to simply providing the platform, EBF also supported the entire rollout.

EBF’s many years of experience and strengths as an integrator and partner for complex mobility projects were a major advantage for FI. From the conception of the solution to support in processing customer inquiries, EBF provided the right experts in the right place for the respective tasks in every phase of the project.

In addition to supporting the creation of the infrastructural requirements and the provision and service processes, EBF also supported Finanz Informatik in the creation of services for the mymo platform. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of the MobileIron platform used, a custom framework app was developed at the customer’s request to make it easier for users to get started with mymo.

The result

Finanz Informatik successfully launched its new platform in 2017. The growing number of mobile devices and the increasing use of the platform within the organization show that “my mobile office” offers significant added value for the savings banks. EBF is currently assisting FI with the implementation and integration of new ideas.
