The key challenge for us was being able to migrate over 200+ devices without having to wipe each device in order to get the new MDM on the device – and to get this done in a short amount of time with one person.

Challenge

Over 200 devices were to be migrated from MaaS360 to MobileIron – in a short time, with only one internal person, without having to delete every single device.

Our contribution

The EBF Onboarder enabled a largely automated migration – without much effort for IT and users, with good communication support and a good overview of the project progress.

Result

The EBF Onboarder enabled a smooth change of the UEM system in a short time. A great relief for the company’s small IT team.

Challenge

Heat pumps, solar energy systems and air conditioning, building automation and ventilation systems, and boilers – the team from James River Air Conditioning Company boasts extensive expertise related to all these technologies. Around 300 employees assist private and corporate customers with installation and maintenance of devices, perform energy audits, and provide them with first-class service. A service in which mobile devices play an increasingly important role. These can be used to communicate with customers, manage service tickets and provide great on-site services.

The employees of the company are equipped with iOS devices that they can use for swift and easy execution of all these tasks – previously managed with MaaS360, the Unified Endpoint Management System from IBM. However, when the James River Air Conditioning Company decided to switch to MobileIron in January 2022, it was confronted with challenges related to migration.

The experience with EBF and the EBF Onboarder was great. EBF provided me with an easy way to migrate over 200 mobile devices from one MDM to another in a short period of time. This made things a lot easier with us having such a small IT team. The support was great. Eric showed me how to migrate the devices and it was super easy from there.

Result

EBF’s migration solution ensured a largely automated migration of the devices – without much effort for IT and users, with good communication support and a good overview of the progress of the migration project. The James River Air Conditioning Company was able to benefit from this added value, which guaranteed a smooth changeover for the UEM system.
